I am about to order a valentine radar detector. I would like to hardwire it into the power from the mirror. I have a few questions.
1) What is the best way to attach it to the car? Suction cups, velcro, other?
2) How hard is it to hardwire and make it look good? Is this something I can do myself or should I be taking it somewhere, like a stereo place. I am mostly worried about making it look good.
3) Does anybody know what the correct part number is for hardwiring into the viper.
4) Any other suggestions with respect to this process.

All suggestions are appreciated.

1) I've used suction cups for a pretty much permanent mount for over 10 years now in a number of vehicles, to mount it above the rearview mirror as high as possible, for long-range view.
2) Depends on your level of proficiency with doing wiring. If you've ever spliced into a wiring harness, this is simple. I routed a black RJ-11 cable (phone cord) around the inside edge of the windshield then down behind the dash at the driver's A-pillar, tacked it down to the windshield with clear silicon caulk - the wire is undetectable, and the caulk is easy to remove when you want to remove t. I spliced the junction box into the radio's power, as its switched (I most certainly did not want to tie it into the rear-view mirrors unswitched power), and because the radio head unit is so easy to remove (pull off bezel, then two screws).
3) that question makes no sense to me.
