My first project with my mig welder....didn\'t come out too bad,

Thanks to JonB for giving me a great deal on the Ron Davis radiator with the oil cooler built in.

I custom fabercated 2 13" spal fans which pull over 3500 CFM on my Ron Davis Radiator. I will be installing it tonight. I tell you what, those two spal fans kick asss! It's like being in a tornado when both kick on!

Fan ducting is everything. I was playing around with the fans and tried different things. If you don't have a good ducting system, the fans don't do much. Now if you have it duct right, it pulls tons!

Here's some pics.

I bought one of those self darking helmets for welding. ($50 bucks!! It's awesome!

Does the drain go on the bottom...or the top???

(Just a little joke, NOT aimed at you AB, that only a few will understand!) :)

If anyone wants me to build them one, let me know.

I would assume the bottom...right? ha! ha! Don't tell me someone installed it upside down.

Great job! You can wire those fans so they both come on with the factory low and high speed fan relays. There are some other tricks to make the car run cool and work well with a supercharger. Call me if you need some help.

Thanks Dan! I take that as a compliment coming from a tuner. I was thinking of doing what you said above, but I am thinking of putting on a separate adjustable therm relay that I can control what temps they kick on to get a head atart on the cooling...It will help cool the engine off, but the Paxton thing is still an issue with over heating. Dan are you going to be putting together a package for your custome intercooler system?

REAL NICE job, Adam.

Watch out for the cheaper auto-darkening helmets. When they go bad, the symptom is, they fail to darken, and you can get a blast of painful arc light that'll weld your retinas!

Looks great Adam! :2tu: Those are the exact same fans I have. Spal fans kick butt don't they. Haven't had a cooling issue yet since I installed them.

Cool, and FYI the "flash burn" only affects the cornea not the retina. :2tu:

I just make stuff up as I go along! But I did want to warn him about the cheaper helmets.

Adam, I didn't think you needed a welding helmet? Where's the pics of the welder's tan?!
