ron-
can you post a pic or two of your car?
im looking for a 2001 model. i was thinking red with white all the way until someone noted that it'd look just like all the other r&w gts'. so, im thinking of being bold and getting a yellow gts

Thanks JonB- that is a very helpful tip about the 36 days between
D1 and I status!

Could someone post the phone number to call with your VIN to check which status code your car is in?

Red/white would be VERY rare, as it isn't produced! ...ironically, red w/white stripes was ONLY produced in '97...then Dodge switched to silver stripes. Yet our ALMS cars run with white stripes. I always imagined a commemorative edition which switched back to Red/white config...wing...BBS...and decals (in a box as was done with the pace car decals).

I'm always glad to have an opportunity to post a photo of my new GTS. So, here it is, Brian (NoPistons):

As you can see, there's nothing subtle about this color combination.

I ordered my Sapphire ACR back in September and got a VIN # shortly after. My car then after some wait went to "D1" and again I waited several weeks. Then last week the car went to "E" status and early this week to "I". The dealer then told me that another Viper he has had on order for someone else had been in "I" for several weeks. He thinks they may be building several to be shipped to him at one time. So as Jon B said the codes don't mean much when it comes to Vipers. Jon B is usually right.
Good luck with your Yellow Viper.

If there is one thing I have learned on this board it's that
Jon B is usally correct. I ordered my Sapphire ACR back in September and got a VIN # within a few weeks. My car moved to D1 status several weeks later and sat there for quite some time. Last week it moved to E and this week to I. The dealer (Chuck Tator)told me not to get too excited yet, he has had another pre-sold Viper in I for several weeks and he believes the factory may be building several Vipers to be delivered to him at one time. I hope this helps
