Need advise on VEC3 on 2006 Coupe

Who did install himself the new VEC3 on the GEN3 Viper ?
How long it takes and what are the difficulties during the installation ?
I would appreciate a couple of pictures.

What are the gains especially in the WOT lag ?


Looks like my new 06 Coupe only stayed stock 2 days ... my wife will get angry once she learns what I did to my new Viper ...

I installed the VEC 3 myself a few months ago in my 05. The instructions are vary clear but plan on a good long afternoon for the install. I am not a grease monkey by any stretch but I do ok with electircal stuff. Anyway I found that if you get some good light relax lay out all the stuff and read through the instruction slowly so you have a grasp of whats going on you can do it. Be sure to have a clear head (not tired & no beer). There are a lot of wires to cut (don't let that scare you). The just go one at a time and double check before each cut! Gains you will get an easy 20HP and 30TQ I have heard more but thats what I got to the REAR WHEELS! You need to have a place you can take it to to dyno the car to adjust your Air/ Fuel ratio setup. Sean Roe should give you two tunes on cards. One that is stock and the other that is not. The second one has some extra timing built in through the midrange and after you get the fuel adjusted....yea baby!! You Will feel it! Anyway if you have a way to head to the Dyno to tune the car buy the VEC 3 it's worth every penny!! You will see the Vec 3 in the picture below on the drivers side near the window.

It seems that the GEN3 PCM is more sophisticated. It does more work.
I will ask aVEC3 from my wife for christmass.
It will be a good winter project.

Do you happen to have pictures of the area where you had to cut the wires ?
Did it elliminate the WOT lag ?

Joseph Dell and I, ( well, he did just about all the work) installed a VEC3 on my 06 2 weeks ago, and it took 2 hours. yes, a lot of wires to cut, but all in one place, the colors matched the instructions, and i think Joseph would agree that it was relatively easy, which is easy for me to say, because like i said, he did it.
as for results, i posted after we tuned, and dyno results were very good.......482/520, on basically stock SRT.

Schulmann - I spoke to Sean Roe yesterday about the VEC 3 as I am going to be installing it as well as Headers / High Flow Cats / Corsa Track on my 06 next week. He made in interesting recommendation that you may wish to consider to save yourself time and a few dollars. Unless you plan to do more mods other than the bolt ons such as I just described, you might want to consider a custom PCM Flash that Roe Racing now offers. You get a custom fuel / air ratio programmed into the new PCM. It's just a matter of replacing your PCM rather than cutting a bunch of wires etc. and having to go have the car dyno tuned. I am still going with the VEC 3 as I may have a Paxton in my near future and would need the VEC 3 anyway. Just thought I'd throw this other option out for you....If your interested in this you'll have to call Roe Racing - it's not in their product list on the Web yet.

Yes I talked about this PCM reprogramming a couple of month ago for another GEN3.
At that time the PCM was programmed for a more agressive cam.
