Long story short, couple weeks ago my 2013 SRT base (~15k miles) started to make a nasty lower toned squealing noise. It happened a few minutes into a short drive across my small town. I limped it to a local independent shop. Oil had lots of copper flakes in it, cylinder 8 had a loose rod, and thankfully the sleeves and top end looked good. No immediate internal damage concerns, until it comes completely apart by my builder. It was at least 3 quarts low on oil, and I do my changes every 1500 miles (OEM mobil weight). I suspect the rings ate too much oil, rapidly, potentially causing this failure.
Time to rip it apart, clean, hopefully not machine, and rebuild. I want to get beefed up internals for longevity and a potential future procharger build.
My question: Any advice on internals parts to buy for this rebuild to would be greatly appreciated.
I'm looking to Prefix coated rod bearings, pushrods, and lifters. I am unsure if there's any **** rods, pistons etc. that'll help make the engine run more efficiently.
