Hey guys...this is my first post on the Gen III board. I feel like such a big boy now!!! Anyway, I'm thinking about trading in my Gen I on a untitled MSO 2003 red car with 300 miles. What is the car worth? It seems to me like the market it pretty low now across the board. I'm trying not to get hit over the head too bad. What is a fair price?

Thanks.

Yes, that is right on the money. $65k + your Gen I car.

Sorry, that comment was unnecessary and shows a complete lack of restraint.

It was, however, fun to type.

On a more serious note, he could likely get the car for less than $65k during the winter and especially if it is red.

Now be careful there Alice.....them thar red cars are a breed apart, and fast as water through a funnel and eggs through a hen! :)

Tony:

I love red vipers...arguably more than my black mamba, but my understanding was that they sell at a lower price than more unique colors.

I did not have my red SRT-10 long enough to fully appreciate it. I think the new owner benefitted from that...sold with 800 miles.

Red may be the most in supply, but it is also most in demand. I am not sure there is a decrease in value, with the exception of specialy versions that had a higher MSRP.

Many people equate Viper with red, similar to Ferrari.

Ok so 65 is the general consensus? They are asking 69,900 and I thought that was still way too high. Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys.

Just sold my 2003 SRT with 4,000 miles on it for $64.5k.

Chad, ~65K and go enjoy. Spring is not far away.

Jody, you now Viperless? What's the next ride? Oops, no hijack intended.

For the moment, yes. Ack, I can't believe I am without a Viper! Going to pick up a White Mamba or a VCA edition if I can find one quick. :)
