We are very proud of our new hoods, the design and workmanship through much trial and error have been perfected, the underside of the hood is as clean and smooth as the outside. The hood also incorperatres a drain system consisting of an offset louver on the underside for every louver on the outside,it then drains the water to the facia area, thereby keeping rain away from the engine compartment. This hood uses all factory hinging and hardware.we are overstocked by 4 and are offering these 4 at a great discounted price.Call or email for more info.We can also paint to match. Here is a recent track review of the hood.We also have in stock our Facias, rear diffusers, side sills, side gills. We are also near completion of our competition coupe style facia for the gen3.We are also about a month away from debuting our gen2 lemans style facia with some encouragement from Jeff(proracer)

Any weight savings ?

The OEM hood weighs 106-111lbs,our hood weighs 79lbs,The advantages to this hood are never ending. Not only is the workmanship great.we have raised the center section 1 1/4".which gives it a beautiful look without loosing the factory look.More importantly is engine longevity. The factory hood has insulation under the hood to protect the paint from the heat but unfortunately nothing protecting the engine. The only release is the to side vents that are sandwiched against the fender walls. As anyone knows the biggest battle on an all aluminum engine has is heat,it MUST release it to guaranty long and reliable life of the motor. The factory hood traps the heat and as we all know aluminum does not dissipate heat well. What is amazing and anyone that has our hoods will attest to is when driving the car, watching the heat vapors rise from all of the vents. So in ending this is not only one of the best cosmetic upgrades you can do to your car it is also one of the best if not the best answer for a long and trouble free life with a cool motor.Price for the hood is 5k in primer and 6k painted with out stripes, add 250 for stripes but must have precise measurements

Scott,

While I love your hood design and really appreciate the fact that you're producing Viper body parts and sincerely hope you sell thousands of them, isn't it a bit of a stretch to say the aluminum block and heads will last longer because of some extra venting?

How does the block's life diminish by living in an ambient temperature of say... 150 degrees versus 200? Wiring, engine computer, etc., I could agree but the "aluminum engine"?

Not that it matters but aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat and in fact is much better than cast iron.

longevity of the motor or any part under that hood is increased by reducing temperatures. And yes aluminum is an exellent conductor of heat which is why aluminum engines run so much hotter than cast.bottom line is on almost any metal object ,the cooler it remains the longer it will last.

Every vent in the hood is functional. There is a total of 26 not including the under shell. From the underside it looks to be covered, that is because for every vent on the outside there is an offset vent on the underside to protect the engine from water. There is a total of 52 functional vents combined on the outer and inner shell.i will try and show some spy photos of the new facia later this week
