One of the local guys here (who really seems to know his stuff), pointed me in the direction of these wires. Just wanted to get second opinion...although I really trust this local guy.

Lots of gimmicky designs come and go over the years and I have tried a few only to end up going back to the tried and true. If professional racers and fleet vehicles use them year after year, I tend to accept their cumulative field testing. When all is said and done, the spark plug's job is a simple one; to provide ignition at the precise moment in the compression cycle of the engine. Once the fuel is ignited the plug just needs to be there to reliably fire off. In the case of our Vipers, lowly Champions seem to be a heavy favorite.

I tried split-fire plugs once in a Olds 455. Reliable starters, but all of that extra electrode material retained too much heat and caused excessive detonation at higher loads. They wouldn't behave so back to OEM AC's. Problem solved. Innovation is good, but sometimes its better to let someone else's motor be the tester.

Sounds like a bunch of cr@p to me... They say a standard spark plug delivers 50 watts of power and these somehow magically deliver 1,000,000 watts? That's either completely untrue, or misleading. Keep in mind that a million watts is equal to about 1350 HP of mechanical energy. Where's that coming from? Now, if you look at watts as their defined unit of power (Joules per second), their claim might be 'true' if they delivered the spark energy 20,000 times faster than a standard spark plug. Take the same amount of energy (Joules) and deliver it in 1/20,000th the amount of time, and you get 20,000 times the amount of 'watts'. Even if they could do that, I don't see how it's going to make a big difference where the rubber meets the road.

Ya, one bad set...so that makes the score now...1 bad to 3 good experiences from the local guy on his Vipers...anyone out there have any other experiences with these plugs?

Go ahead and try them, report back. You never know...you may make a believer of some folks here. :eater:

When you say 'good experience' is there a dyno or other before/after with new stock plugs to say how much of a good experience? I could see a 'good experience' being they don't blow the engine, but for extra $, I'd expect to see some improvement in power.

An MPG statement is VERY tough to verify on a Viper. Driving style at any given moment is a larger factor than anything else.

I get a bump in mileage whenever I change my old OEM plugs to the same new OEM plugs. They cost $1.49 each. Oh yeah, I forgot, if your AFR if off the plug doesn't really matter does it? Put the $250 towards a better tune and forgot the PoopStar plugs. :2tu:

Explaining Viper things to you
even if its true, it isnt worth it for 2.5 rwhp and slightly more MPG.....

You have so see the bigger picture. No, you wouldn't want to do just those plugs. But who would stop there anyway?

Let's take a looksie at some of the hot Viper performance parts:

-> Vipair 50hp
-> Fuel line magnet 25hp
-> Intake Tornados 25hp
-> Airbox Vectors They just look like hp

Now put the new fancy spark plugs to that list and you are over 100hp to the improvement side.

Yeah baby, that's power gain there!

looks like the jury has decided...while they might help...the cost benefit might not be there just yet...
