Lots of gimmicky designs come and go over the years and I have tried a few only to end up going back to the tried and true. If professional racers and fleet vehicles use them year after year, I tend to accept their cumulative field testing. When all is said and done, the spark plug's job is a simple one; to provide ignition at the precise moment in the compression cycle of the engine. Once the fuel is ignited the plug just needs to be there to reliably fire off. In the case of our Vipers, lowly Champions seem to be a heavy favorite.
I tried split-fire plugs once in a Olds 455. Reliable starters, but all of that extra electrode material retained too much heat and caused excessive detonation at higher loads. They wouldn't behave so back to OEM AC's. Problem solved. Innovation is good, but sometimes its better to let someone else's motor be the tester.
