I just purchased a 94 RT10. I have yet to take delivery, should be here next Thu, having it shipped home. Sort of a xmas present to me! :) I do have a couple questions I was hoping someone could help me with.

1. On the center console just in front of the shifter is two toggle switches. One is the fog lights and works. But the second never lights to indicate it is working. I can not see what it is doing. What is this switch for? I looked in the owner manual but no answers. The only thing I can think of is the switch for dealer installed A/C, which this car does not have.

2. I am going to pull off the lower sills and repaint becuase of the popular heat bubbles/blisters. Is removing these as easy as it looks? Any hidden surprises that will have me wondering how they are not coming off? Also, what can be done to stop/minimize any furutre bubbles due to heat? Any aftermarket items to help, short of a entire new coated exhaust?

3. If I do decide to put aftermarket exhuast on the car where is the best place (I know this will vary because of opinion) to purchase headers and a system?

4. Best place (price) to purchase a B&M shifter?

Thanks in advance!

1) It is a dead switch does not do anything. But, I have mine hooked up to operate my garage door.
2) Not that hard at all. Sean Roe now sells some sort of insulating material that you may want to look into.
3) Partsrack, Jon B. Great guy, best prices around.
4) Again Partsrack.

Welcome to the Viper Nation!!!
First thing is you must post pics of the snake when you get it home.
Just for your info, 94 Vipers (especially if it is Red) are well known as being the fastest and best of all the
Vipers :)
Regarding the "mystery switch", it is for the passenger ejector seat.......actually is does nothing on US spec cars....I think they just needed something to fill in the hole....Some guys wire it up as a garage remote...There is an article in the "How to" section about the "mystery switch".
I bought my snake on X-mas eve 1999 and have been smiling ever since, best X-mas ever!!!.
I cant really help you on your other questions as my snake is bone stock.
Now Ill give the standard statement to newbies....Please make sure to have the steering wheel pointed straight before mashing the loud pedal......We have lost a few of you over the years for not doing that...Also when you first start out say to yourself "Cold tires, cold brakes" and drive accordingly.....
Have a great time with your snake, and please
DRIVE THE **** OUT OF IT!!
there are too many garage queens....
Ive driven mine over 30k ......
Cheers,

The bubbles are not really near the rivits. Isn't the sill a plastic composite? I have not examined it that close but looking it over I just assumed.

I am near Toledo but get to Cleveland to watch, the, umm, Browns on occasion.

Sills are ez to remove. Try Roe set-up on the exhaust. It gave me 20 more rwhp and sounds a lot better. It's took about one hour to install. I believe the corrosion is caused by using different metals with the revits and sills.
Welcome to the 94 club. Also were is the car comng from.

The mystery switch was used in European Models for driving lights.

The sills are aluminum and the blisters are usually around the rivets that hold the inner heat shields on. If you repaint your side sills drill out the rivets and don't bother with the sheet metal heat shields. Just install the insulation around the exhaust. Removal and install is pretty simple bolts from above 2 screws in front and 4 under the plastic caps in the door sill. I think there are 5 under the car that screw the underside in place.

Aftermarket exhaust- I had the Belanger Cat Back exhaust for a while (Parts Rack), Over time it got louder. Now I have Ramdom Tech High Flow Cats (Parts Rack), Magnaflow Straight Through Mufflers and Some Resonators. Bought and installed at my local Custom Exhaust Shop. Still very loud, over the past 3.5 years I have put 30k miles on the car and lost 60% of my hearing in my right ear.

Good luck with the car.

Partial Credit.

The switch is hot for Euro-Export models only, and it activates REAR FACING fog lites, integral in Euro-Spec rear taillight lenses.

If ya wanno know more before I forget it, please call, and WELCOME ABOARD
