New to me gen 2 RT/10 missing air bag fuses.

Just bought a 2000 Rt/10. Cars in great shape. 36000miles. I know the front bumper has been replaced. But nothing on the history report.
I has an airbag light on, I assumed was the clock spring but I just checked the fuses and both have been pulled.
Any reason for this?
If I put them back in would the air bags go off?
Must have something to do with the number replacement.
Any thoughts on this would be great!

I have heard of people pulling the fuses because they feel that the air bags are a threat...particularly with the potential issue with Takata equipment.
I do not agree with that philosophy.

Another possibility might be that there was a problem somewhere in the Occupant Restraint System that concerned them.

Hopefully you do have airbags in place. One cannot help but wonder about that with the history regarding the front bumper.

If I was in your position, I would find a qualified tech with access to either proprietary Chrysler scan tools or other high level scanners to look for the problem,...get it properly fixed, then enjoy your new Viper.

Keep in mind that I am not a mechanic...just a Viper owner.

Thanks for the replay. That exactly what I was gonna do. Still figuring things out on this thing.
Everything looks good on the dash, air bags look to be there. Horn works. Not sure how to make sure. Showed no accident history.

Several years ago, a solid guy with many Vipers, Prowlers, etc. stated the through his long multi-vehicle collecting history he did indeed have a few mishaps...all of which were repaired via insurance. However, he noted that 30% did not show up on Carfax.

In my own experience, two different friends sustained significant damage in single car events...in both cases I was asked to be there when the adjuster made his inspection and disposition. In both cases, said adjuster declared "totaled". With a bit of discussion, both parties were allowed to repair the Vipers with insurance paying the bill...one of which was about $60,000.00. Neither car showed up on Carfax or Autocheck.
