As you all know, our big honkin' trailer was stolen over the weekend of Easter (approximately April 15th). Did the whole police report, called insurance company, etc. Worked closely with adjuster for the next couple of weeks. Borrowed a trailer from Golden Gait that we intended to purchase with the insuracne settlement. They did minor mods so that we could take it to Mid Ohio, i.e. d-rings for tying down the cars and E-track for tying down the stuff. Borrowed trailer covered under our policy as a loaner. Spend about an extra $200 per year to have a replcement cost endorsement applied to all vehicles. Comprehensive deductible is $50.
May 10th (25 days later!) received a check for $29.5K
So, needless to say, I am very pleased with Fireman's Fund. FYI - Viper coverage is $1100 per year. 250/500 liability, $500 collision ded, $50 comp ded, includes uninsured / underinsured coverage.
So, while we may not pay the least, I would say it would be darn hard to top the coverage and service we received. Ask around and talk to an independent agent who represents Fireman's Fund.
New trailer back at dealer getting all the other "stuff" installed. Anyone looking for a quality trailer and a quality dealer, Golden Gait is the largest Featherlite car hauler dealer in the US. , the complete replacement cost for the trailer (including a price increase from 2000 to 2001), all the upgrades, tie downs, mat, and even the expedited shipping for us to get them all in time for Mid Ohio. Less, of course, the $50 deductible
