Newbie...just saying hello

Just thought I would introduce myself, since this is my first post.

Bought a 1998 Silver GTS this week. It replaces a 2000 S2000 that I autocrossed for 2 years. I am going to try my luck against the Z06's of New Orleans. Any tips? I am sure there is a lot to learn.

Just have to say this car makes me smile from ear to ear when I drive it!!

Welcome to the world of torque.
Tips?? Get the tires good and hot before pushing the Snake through the corners. Big tires cold, little traction. Big tires hot, stick like glue!
Use the torque the car has, use a higher gear and lug the car till you get use to the way it handles with the gobs of power it has.

BTW no slam against the autoXr's, just that if you REALLY want to enjoy a Viper you need to be going into a turn at 140mph.

AutoX is a great way to learn the car. Plenty of advice on racing/AX tires on the board, just use the search. If you're using original tires check your temps for an even setting...I've found my best times are at 30lbs...even temps all across the tire at my local AX track..but I'm sure that's variable...driver technique, road surface etc. Concur on the track advice...Good luck.

I am going to get it out on the track. We have a 2 mile road course here near New Orleans that is a blast to run. My wife and I both Autocross, so I am going to get her to learn doing that before she gets out on the track. Actually, it is her car!!

I am going to run Kumho Ecsta's for track tires and I just replaced the pilots with Dunlops.
