I had to laugh after changing the oil yesterday about how I felt. It was like a
breath of fresh air. After just looking at the car sit and sit and sit in the
garage as the winter seemed to last forever, it was if the car was waking up. (LOL).
Thanks to VIPERJOHN with the WALMART INFO ( MOBIL 1 OIL FILTERS $9.48 & MOBIL 1
SYN OIL $22.38 5 QUART JUG ) total cost for oil change $54.24 + 5% tax, plus the
fun of doing it myself ( PRICELESS ) :D The funny part is how it made me feel
that spring is here and THE SEASON HAS STARTED. :2tu:

Just to add a side note for those who own a gen I/II, VIPERJOHN is very knowledgeable
about them and has been a great help to me, many times, THANKS JONH :2tu:

Thanks for the props Tom.

I finally unleashed the snake today. Unfortunately it wasn't until 11:00 PM and 35 Degrees. But I still had a blast, even though I probably should have put the top on.

I just got my 95 RT10 this winter and was going to change the oil this weekend. Im in MD as well, do you guys suggest 10 30w or 10 40w mobile 1 oil. do you put the entire 5 quart jug in for one oil change? I havent read the manual on suggested oil amount yet, so i thought i would just ask.
plus is the correct mobile 1 oil filter number M1 204?
any other suggestion for the oil change?
thx

PS - ViperJohn -im joining the Viper Club, i just keep forgeting about it.
look forward to meeting all of you sometime.

I think your 95 will take 8.5 quarts with a filter change. M1 204 is the correct filter. As far as the weight is concerned, you will get varying answers. I am using M1 Truck & SUV 5w-40 because of the robust additive package and impressive UOA results that I have seen.

Not sure of the oil capacity of the 95 Gen 1 engine. Your manaul will state the quantity or you could call Chuck Tator and he will tell you. (914)763-3136

Oil viscocity has been discussed before, in the end, stick with the viscocity your model calls for. 2002's hold 10 quarts of 10W 30. Makes changing the oil pretty easy, I just dump 2-5 quart containers and I'm done.

Coppernicus confimred the M1-204. Walmart is not carrying the Mobil 1 filters for under 10 bucks.
