Are you talking about the side sills? If so it's not the std. warranty (3 yr/ 36K miles) that covers this. It would be the outer body perforation warranty which should be 7 yr/ 100K miles.

I believe there have been reports on the Board about hood problems in a few 98 cars(?? 97 also). Would explore fix now. Hopefully others will add more info. Good luck.
