Paxton cold air intake?

Seems like the Paxton intake set-up isn't ideal, so I was going to fab up a box to seal to the hood so that it pulls air from the scoop instead of through the radiator, even while the car isn't moving. Has anyone else done something similar?

Also, I was wondering, since the supercharger is going to heat up the air anyway, and it goes through the aftercooler, does a cold air intake even matter?

I have a vague recollection of there being a prior discussion on this point. I think that you need to inquire whether your idea will allow sufficient air flow.
