Guys I was wondering if the PCM Upgrade actually gives you 20-40 more hp & if so is there any negatives. What other minor upgrades can I do to add a few more hp. Dolph Williams just installed smooth tubes & s&b filters, by the way He's a Great Guy (I'm sure most everybody in the Viper community already knew that) not gonna do any tracking, just was thinking about getting up to around 500hp. Thanks

..... I've heard about the creampuff year .... Thanks

not year, but years: 2k-2002 at a min

gears for street use - as a famous site vendor says "the poor man's supercharger"

then a flywheel, brakes, (tom's :dunno:) exhaust ....

peace

are you looking for time slip, road course use or seat of the pants improvement. :dunno:

also, are you familiar with the sct tuner for the viper?

Explaining Viper things to you
You won't get to 500 hp doing bolt-ons unless one of them is spray.

I've got headers HF cats 3" side exhaust tubes filters basic SCT 93oct tune and I just dynoed at 446. Yes that's 515 at the flywheel if you add the 15% but I assume you're talking rwhp like most.

I've also done gears and flywheel but those don't really add true hp.

Thanks eucharistos, TonyViper just informed me about the SCT Tuner (didn't know before then, I'll actually have to look it up to see exactly what it does)So I guess Monday I'll be giving Dan a call about it & Catback Exhaust & Hi-Flow cats. Not sure how much this will get me, but I also want to get a lil' more growl also. Do you think 373 gears are good all-around or are they too low. Also don't really want to do any internal stuff unless for the betterment of the motor (life wise) I still want it to be dependable. Thanks

After the DC computer tune My car on a 4th gear pull went 1 second faster 2500 to 6000 rpm.The area under the curve was a lot bigger even if peak hp only went up 20hp or so.

Headers,catback,highflows,smooth tubes,filters 1.7 jessel rr,DC tune. 465rwhp 501 rwtq

Thanks Bruce, All of this & I've pretty much made my mine up to go with the 3.55 gears, 3.77's might be a little to much. I don't know where that would put me hp wise, but I think just for cruisin around town I should be able to hold my own to most cars. Will my mostly stock 2000 rt/10 run with a stock 996 Porsche.

plenty of creampuffs with roes running around that i know of and plenty of paxtons too. you just cant up the boost too high. keep the boost at OEM paxton level (about 600rwhp) and youre fine
