You have all seen the silver SRT-10 with the full autoform body kit and the black fader strip that goes down the side of the car over the door. Well, I was curious what it would look like on my red car, so I ordered it and put one side on. When done, I just wasn't happy with it -- the car looked 2 fast and 2 furious, if you know what I mean. Took an hour to put on and 1 minute to take off.

Here are various pics I took of them -- so those of you with red cars that like this look can order it for your car.

It makes the car look dirty, as if oil and brake dust have covered that area.

I like it. I saw the SRT-10 you speak of at viperdays and it looks great. I do think it looks better on a silver car though rather than red.

I wanted to try the decal on my red car, but, I have a white and blue stripe and thought that it might be just a little over the top. Too many different colors.

Now I'm thinking flames!

I like it, and have it on my silver SRT, looks good on your car also. Parts rack sells it(cheaper than autoform, btw) I would leave them on your car and add the black viper and srt emblems would make it look even better

I have a guy that does all my car detailing work here at my place and he used to do vinyl, so I aske dhim to put one side on (I was away doing something while he did this, so I didn't watch his technique.)

I think the fader stripe looks great on a silver car, ad probably would look very nice on a white car. On the red, I just didn't like it to the point where I wanted to leave it on the car. I gave the other side of vinyl to the installer, as he said he could use it for something.

I got mine through Parts Rack.

The graphic would have a better effect IMHO if it had ended right before the first body sew (you know the one from the door)
That the way the air vent would've looked much bigger and wider. (resulting in a more aggressive look)

I think that it visually adds more shape/style to the car, and that it actually looked pretty good on your car, but it is better on a silver SRT-10 Viper. I also agree that it would work better with a gradient about half as long, so that it enhances the fender vent but doesn't muddy up the door. :2tu:

Hey, who painted my car white  ? If some one is interested in trying the white on a black or red car let my know and I will see if I can get it done. If so it will be available through Jon B @ Parts Rack. Personally I kind of liked it on the red car, but I am biasised.

The black really looks good on silver. Anyone try silver on a black SRT-10?

I also think it needs to fade more from the beginning... Looks nice on the silver though!

Also, the best technique for applying the vinyl to the vehicle is to:

first, wash the vehicle area with a dishwashing detergent

Second, rub the area with alcohol prior to applying the graphic

Third, you can use a homemade application fluid such as 2-3 drops of dishwashing detergent to 12oz of water and put inside of a spray bottle or you can buy the professional application fluid.

Fourth, remove the graphic from the backing and spray the back of the vinyl and the area where you are applying the graphic

Fifth, apply the wet graphic to the wet area of the vehicle and then use a felt squeegee over the entire grahpic removing all of the fluid until all of the bubbles and imperfections are gone. You can also use a hair dryer to help aid in having the vinyl stick quicker and over contoured areas.

Sixth, Your all done enjoy!
