Question about my 1998 GTS?

I noticed that the build date on the door of my 1998 GTS is 11/98. Was it normal for them to build a 1998 model so late in the year? I would have figured it would be a 1999 model since it was built so late. Thanks

Years ago the Viper was built year specific only. From Jan to Dec. I believe with the SRT-10 they now shifted to Aug the year before to July.
