What was your first car? I'm still young, and I want to get something with a V8. I doubt a rough start would have an effect on the time it'd take me to get a Viper. I'm aiming at around age 26, 27. An age where I could actually enjoy it.

So did you start at 4 cylinders? Or did you always drive big muscle cars?

Some of the spoiled brats here may have started off with a hot ride. Mine was a 65 Rambler, then a 60 Chevy when the tranny in the Rambler died three months after getting it.

Mom and Dad wouldn't let me buy my dream car, a 71 Firebird 455 until I was out of the house. I was 19.

72 VW Super Beetle. The guy was asking $600, but I got him to come down to $450, which was all I could afford on my supermarket bag boy salary....hehehe.

Man....that car sucked.

1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, painted two tone, blue and white, with Keystone wheels and Dunlop raised white letter tires, white vinyl seats and more money in the stereo system and speakers than the car.

First car was a restored 1967 Mustang (Vintage Burgandy, with black top, and black interior), with a custom build Boss 302 racing engine, Ford 9" w/3.89 traction lock gears, custom build C4 w/3500RPM stall converter, the works...was that a fun car

It would pass anything except a gas station :headbang:

My first was a 1976 Cutlass Supreme 4-door with the Rocket 350. I used to have fun beating up on 5.0 Mustangs Camaros. I went through many Cutlasses over the years. Then shifted over to MOPARs, the Viper being one.

Next acquisition : 1970 440+6 Barracuda Convertible.

My first car was a 78 toyota celica-supra. When 92 came around, I was just out of high school, on my third car and KNEW I would have to get that car that just came out... the Viper! It took a bit over 10 years, but never I let my eye off the prize!

Setting big goals and knowing it will take some time is the first step to getting it. Paying your dues builds character. I hate spoiled children! :2tu:

First car was a used 1976(?) Honda Accord, semi automatic.

2nd car was my first V8, a used 78 Dodge Aspen with a 318, which fit me like a glove. I really liked that car!

I just bought my 99' RT/10 about 3 weeks ago at age 23 :)

first "sports car" was an 84 trans-am with ** 305 engine. got it when i turned 18 and thought it was sooo fast. now i know what fast is but frankly, that trans-am even with it's meager 225 or so HP was enough for an undisciplined teenage punk. if i had the viper back in those days, i am sure i'd be dead now.

Two first cars (got them the same day) 74 Trans Am 454 SD and the most insane thing you could let a 16 year old drive, a 70 Gremlin with a V-8 I think it was a 268 ci. Man that thing flew! :headbang:
