Just a thought, but if he went to the extent of adding an auto tranny, he may have also done extensive weight reduction too.

The tranny is a three speed automatic and the rearend is stock with 3.45's. Martin, obviously this thing makes more than 550's to the flywheel. The rating on the 555 is a conservative (to say the least) number.

Thanks for getting my back Dan.

I really do not mean to start up an argument. It is just that the implication is that a TNT 555 with an Auto could run low 10's at 133. I just wanted more information so I could rationalize it. I still seek that information.

Frankly, I would consider an Automatic if it had that kind of upside. How can we get more information? Who did the install? What model transmission, how high is the stall. In addition, there would be considerably more driveline loss with that setup. Help us out and get us more details. Thanks!

I have a TNT 555 package with gas and run 143mph. That 133 has got to be without gas. (or not much) 750 hp to run a 10.1? That's a little much. I have less RWHP than that. I bet his 60ft. number is wicked. Care to give more details Nick?

By the way, 555 is closer to the rwhp of their packages. You don't get to call yours a 605 or 655 without a stroker motor.

I would agree with the others, either it has 550 to the wheels or it's missing 500-700 lbs of weight. The automatic is the way to go for drag racing. Just look at that 133MPH and the 10.10 no manual Viper could ever hit 10.10 at only 133 most that are running 10 flat & 9.9's are trapping 140-145 I'm not sure I would like the auto over a manual though, kind of takes away from the sports car experience. But then again, that 10.10 is tempting as I know I could never run that even with 1,000 rwhp using a 6 speed

With all the discussion about blowers/superchargers vs. naturally aspirated cars, I wanted to let everyone know about Tommy Fudge's GTS. With a TNT 555 package and an automatic transmission he went [email protected]. He ran the car at No Problem Raceway in Melrose,La. It runs in an IHRA class for street cars. I believe this makes his car the quickest on motor (someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

Not calling BS.

But, in my experience you need more than 555 crank horsepower to do 133 trap speeds. That tranny must have some magic gears in it. I could possibly see it with 555 RWHP.

I would like more info please!

I will admit that this car is an anomaly. Car ran 11.0's with the six speed and a bunch of tuning. Obviously, the automatic made a huge difference in 60 foot/1/8 mile e.t. I just posted this because I know the car, know what it runs and thought all the drag racers would be interested. In bad air (last week) the car went 10.30-10.40's...

I beleive it could be done because my car with 570 rwhp will run 10.4 10.5 at 133 to 134 with 6 speed. I have a 64 fairlane with automatic that runs 10.8 10.9 at 121 with 430 rearwheel horse, with 70 more it might go nines and it weighs 3400 lbs.

The MPH often drops a little as the ET goes down... 133mph with a 10.1 is some SERIOUS horsepower.

With the losses of an automatic tranny, there has got to be something MAJOR in addition to a 555 package going on there

I thought that there was a post a while back saying that a Venom 650R ran a 9.9. Anyone remember this?

Gerald's 650R went 9.9. It was with a 200 shot of Gas. NX kit.
I would imagine his car with this tranny would be deep in the nines.
