Reduce heat in the engine with the hood gasket away?

Hello everyone

Has someone take the small hood rubber gasket away to reduce heat under the hood?

I did that on my supercharged vette on the engine starts to run a little bit cooler and its also cooler in the engine compartment

This suggestion was previously suggested by one of the members. I went ahead and removed mine. It is very easy to remove without damaging the rubber or the plastic pins that hold it in. I pulled the gasket away from the pins and then carefully removed the pins with a pliers and reinserted them into the gasket. Based on my observations, it only makes sense that removing the gasket will allow heat to escape the engine compartment.
