MORE VENOM ~ 600 hp of Venom!

Your first chance to see the 2008 Viper in action ~ the most powerful factory Viper yet. By far!

This Show of Force includes the Viper Competition Coupe as both will drag race the Air Force “Viper” Fighter Jet F-16. The showdown is part of a weekend-long event taking place March 23-25, 2007, at Luke Air Force Base located just outside Phoenix, Arizona. Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the USAF, Luke has been selected for an expanded “Super Air-Show” program by the military coined “The Show of Force”.

More than just fun for Viper owners this event directly impacts the lives of people on the base as the proceeds go to benefit the MWR base charity fund.

Still need more? This event is big time. In 2005 there were 275,000 people that attended and saw the Viper Corral alongside some of the most impressive aircraft in the world. And the VCA had VIP seating - right up front for the race - right next to the General's tent.

Check out this search of the past Viper vs Viper Events and look at how many sites pick up on it!

With all that is included for your registration this is the best value event of the year!

This is your chance to be the first to check out the new ’08 Viper and see it in action, hang out with Viper friends, and support our troops. Whether you are flying in or driving, this event will give you a weekend of packed in fun.

Here is the info on the event.

For those driving in or flying in the best way to plan is the caravan (Vipers/busses) leaves the hotel Friday at 4:00 for the reception so get checked in well before that.

There are things going on through Sunday late afternoon so you can stay the night and leave Monday or fly out late Sunday.

Your weekend also includes the following:

[*] Friday night reception and Saturday night dinner (both with the Thunderbirds and stunt pilots),

[*]Lunch coupons for Saturday and Sunday

[*]VIP seating for the air show and drag race on Saturday and Sunday ( For the prior years this seating was the best available for the show - bar none - and I expect the same this year) and

[*]Commemorative T-Shirts and specially minted Viper coins. [/list]

A Viper Corral will be set up at the Air Force Base for our Vipers to park. However, due to heightened security, your vehicles (Vipers only) will remain parked onsite from Friday evening’s reception until Sunday after the air show.

Bus transportation will be provided (for those who leave their vehicles parked) between the hotel and the air base on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday. The cost for the entire event is just $200 per registration (this covers up to two attendees) with all the proceeds going to Luke Air Force Base charities.

There is a limit of 100 cars and 200 hundred people, so sign up now! It is not a requirement that you bring your car, but in the event we are over capacity, preference will be given to those who bring their Vipers.

This is your chance to be the first to check out the new ’08 Viper and see it in action, hang out with Viper friends, and support our troops. Whether you are flying in or driving, this event will give you a weekend of packed in fun.

The deadline for registration is February 28, 2007.

Your hotel reservation must be made separately with the Sheraton Crescent Hotel in Phoenix, AZ. Please contact them directly at (800) 325-3535 Make sure you tell them you are with the Viper Club to receive the special discounted rate of $169 per night, plus tax at the Sheraton Crescent Hotel in Phoenix AZ. All room reservations must be made by February 23, 2007.

Any questions? Call Viper Headquarters at 1-800-998-1110.

Lots of out of the box events coming up this season. Wish I could make this one but in school. That is sure to be a bunch of fun.

Re: Viper vs Viper - More Venom Edition. (F-16 vs SRT-10 /600 )

To be honest, the thought of just leaving our cars on base the whole time takes away some of the lustre. You would think with only 100 participants they could manage to guard against any unwanted terrorists from hiding out in one of our cavernous trunks! It's a car related event, and we can't use our cars??

If I wanted to leave earlier in the day on Sunday, say 1 or 2pm, would I be able to get off the base without a hassle?

Who\'s driving in the Race ~ ~ ~ ~ >>>>>: (F-16 vs SRT-10 /600 )

So who is racing against the F-16 jets?

There are 2 people that will be driving.

Herb Helbig and Ralph Gilles.

You all know who Herb is. ~ ~ The “Keeper of the Grail”.

[*]Part of Team Viper from the beginning and a lead person of the SRT line.

[*]Driving?

[*]If you have had the chance to see Herb on a track or auto-X (or better yet, ride along with him) you understand why he is the lead person of Vehicle Synthesis.

[*]If there is something to be known about the Viper, Herb doesn't just know it, he was part of it.

[*] Ralph Gilles Heads up Chrysler's volunteer Skunkwerks group which creates one off versions of company cars for SEMA and other car shows and has been very involved in the Viper and SRT high-performance vehicle programs. .

[*]Ralph led the design teams of the Chrysler 300C, Dodge Magnum and Charger, and the 2008 minivans.

[*]Ralph enjoys amateur track and road racing in his 1997 Dodge Viper GTS like the 2005 and 2006 Targa Newfoundland Rallies, and Car and Driver One Lap of America 2002.

We are honored to have the men at the event and look forward to them hanging out with the club over the weekend!
