Is it a simple unscrew to take off, screw on to put back on or is it more involved? I am planning on purchasing a 93 with fender mount antenna but storing it on a lift with the antenna attached won't be possible. Is it easy on easy off?

I cant get my antenna off. I have an early 93. Twisting as hard as you can it doesnt budge, I only put about 5 minutes worth of effort into it and gave up. I would really like to know how to get this thing off.

I also have a '93 with an antenna on the rear wing and take it off whenever storing. It's a normal anti-clockwise to remove thread. You might want to put some tape around it so you don't scratch it with the wrench as the black paint will come off. Also put some protection on the wing just in case the wrench slips!

Don't know exactly how many "Carry Overs" or 92.5 Vipers were produced and have not seen a number?
From the Viper Registry - here are the 1993 Model Year Features:
1993
Black exterior color introduced
Engine production moved to Mound Road Engine Plant
Engine color is a darker shade of red with a flat rough finish.
Motor oil filler cap changed to a threaded cap # 4573497 with "oil filler can" imprint and the valve cover is changed to accept this threaded cap.
Air conditioning added as a dealer installed option
Rocker exhaust covers have clear anti-chip tape on the front and sides in 3 places on both sides.
Plastic stanchion cover on both doors has 4 screws fastening the stanchion cover in place (no clips as on the '92)
Soft top latch holes on windshield frame have molded plastic cap with hole for latch.
Removable rear window has snaps mounted in 3 flexible black leather tabs which snap to fixed snap buttons mounted on the ledge behind the rear seats.
At approx. build date 04/04/93 following changes occurred:
Rear antenna replaced by windshield antenna wire
Battery relocated to left rear fender (side away from fuel filler to make room for BUX rear exit exhaust)
Front caliper lettering changed from "VIPER" to "RT/10"
Reverse lockout added to transmission
Top Material Changed from Vinyl to Cloth
Running Changes:
Fuel filler door access notch moved to fuel filler door instead of being in the body
Rear valance has solid black area below bumper with 6 large vent holes ~ 5 3/8" long x 7/8" high. Four are in the center

Thats not the way to determine - as far as I know, the only Viper run produced in VIN order was the '98 GT-2 run of 100. If the claim of 34th produced is based on VIN number, it is just as likely incorrect. While it could be correct, knowing that it is so is a bit difficult, as the build order was not recorded (and still isn't) - VINs are assigned before production, then similar colors and trims are produced at the same time (which doesn't correspond to VINs). You might be able to reproduce build order from shipping manifests, etc, but thats unlikely.

I'm not sure how math is going to help determine build order, when its largely unrelated to VIN. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but, as I understand it, it was just as likely that they built VIN 200 before VIN 100.
Granted, its somewhat cool to have a low VIN, or even one of the last VIN's for a model year, but thats all you can say about it; its a low or high VIN.
I know the last cars built in '95 had "last 300 with side pipes" stamped on them, as an example.

I think Randy is on to something here about the discrepancy between actual build date and VIN#. I have been looking for a Gen1 for some time now and noticed that between two 93's, one had a higher VIN# but earlier build date. I thought this was kinda odd but never questioned it until now. Oh Chuck, any thoughts on this?
