Noticed my back up lights weren't working the other day, neither was the rear defroster. So I changed the 10A fuse out for one I had close by..a 7.5A and it blew right when I put it in reverse. Now I put a 25A fuse in there and it didn't blow but I still dont have the reverse lights.

So I figure its the switch on the transmission...but what made the other fuses blow in the first place?

Did you d/c the reverse switch and put the smaller fuse back in and see what happens?

I would not leave a 25A fuse in there, you will possibly melt some wires or start a fire.

Had a similiar problem on my RT 10. If you want to PM me, I can send you over some wiring diagrams and suggestions on things to check. JPM.

Wes, the predominant "issue" with reverse lights is usually the reverse switch on the tranny

Agreed. The reverse switch on the transmission is known to go out from time to time. My old GTS had this problem. As I recall the switch was 18 dollars and took me about 2 seconds to change once I had the car jacked up.

As far as the fuse. No idea. These cars seem to have very special exotic gremlins inhabiting them.

Per the Wizard:

Switch #4626593 MSRP $28.75 [less 20% VCA]

Here's a good chance to support a vendor/board supporter...the best damned one in existence!

He's the first one I'll call anyway.

I'll change the switch out when I get a chance, and I took the fuse out for the time being.

Thanks guys
