according to this month's AutoCar, DC is tipped to sanction a limited run of right hand drive '03 assembled in an Austrialian plant, and that UK cars are planned to hit the streets a couple of months after the USA cars are released

hmm...

That would account for the "missing" 400 or so car discrepancy between the # of certs and the expected 1st year production run!

Remember this thread?

I told you.

>>right hand drive '03 assembled in an Austrialian plant<<

I doubt that. Would that make it an Australian car, or a US car? If it was built from parts anywhere else it wouldn't be a real Viper. If Daimler thinks this makes good sense, I'll sell my DC stock, boycott the company and the VGX forum on this BBS. For all the good it would do (not), it would be my only real recourse to make a statement.

Is an ORECA-built GTS-R a real Viper? No, it's a GTS-R racecar, built in, and shipped from, France. Would it be more valuable than one of the early US-built GTS-Rs? Competition-wise, yes. Collectability-wise, probably not. Time will tell.
