RT/10 Trunk lid \"piston\" thing that replaces the prop rod

About a year ago I purchased the "piston" thing here to replace my prop rod in the trunk. After the car sitting all winter, I started detailing it today and the trunk lid will no longer stay up. I have only been in the trunk a couple times and I didn't think this thing would wear out so fast. I don't remember the name of the guy here that sells them, does anyone remember? Is there a warranty? Is the "piston thing" replaceable without buying the whole kit?

I liked it while it worked but I don't want to buy one every season.

The paperwork should have the piston part number, if not, I think I have this info at home.

Re: RT/10 Trunk lid

Thanks for all the information. Some of you were even kind enough to E-mail me directly. On the off chance I might get lucky, I took my old one to Pep boys tonight and was lucky enough to find a match. $24.00 is a price I can live with. I don't think it should have gone bad in a year, but...

Thanks again.

Should be able to go to NAPA with the old one (length and LBS force), or you could rub some ****** on it and see if that helps!
