If anyone is interested, you can watch Bobby Archer and others slosh around Mid-Ohio at 3:00 pm EDT today on Speedvision. (1 hour T1 finals race).

I'm sorry Runnr, I caught it last night at 10:00 and my wife didn't want to watch it, so I looked ahead and found it on today. I just checked the www.speedvision.com website and I don't see it appearing again in October. They don't have the November schedule up yet, but maybe they'll play it again next month.

only a few of the cars have a dedicated (purpose built) rain setup of wheels and tires, most just use factory wheels or whatever is lying around to mount rains on (nobody wants to think about, let alone plan for rain). if the race had been run in the dry, the ccw presence would have been much more pronounced (just shy of half the field). thanx alan for noticing thought

Ok, well, for those of us who didn't have the chance to watch it, what was the outcome? Placings? Etc...

Come on now, you're leaving me hanging by a thread...

Hi Don,

The T1 race held on Sept. 21st had 21 starters and 15 finishers. It was a very wet day, and Goodyear rain tires had it all over the Hoosier DOT slicks.

John Heinricy ran a flawless race in his Corvette. Henry Van Vurst was second in his Viper and 3rd and 4th were won by Corvettes. 7 Vipers started the race and 5 finished. Of special note was a great effort by Morgan Reese in a 6th place finish! For those of you who might not know Morgan, he drives in GT-2 at ViperDays, and is always very generous in helping people at the track. Bobby Archer finished a somewhat disappointing 7th after winning the pole for the start. The soft compound Hoosiers were still no match for the Goodyear rain tires.

The entire results can be found on the scca.org website, or more specifically: www.scca.org/amateur/club_racing/runoffs/01results/t1-race.html

For some more great racing - come to the ViperDays Finals at Hallet Motor Racing Circuit in Tulsa, Oklahoma, November 2nd, 3rd, and 4th!
