Read in a post a couple of days ago that Sean Roe suggested putting a restrictor in the IAC hose to fix idles hang and Jerry Day said he used Sean's suggested size of restriction and it worked - idle hang gone [ http://vca2.viperclub.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB14&Number=428127&page=2&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1 ]

I have some questions about this:

1) are you talking about restricting the big hose that goes to the idle air control motor or the little hose (I am looking at a drawing in my 98 service manual); and

2) what size restriction did you use and what did you use to make the restrictor? (nothing was mentioned about this in the post I saw)

Thanks for the help guys. Idle hang sux.

I think he suggested a dowel rod with a 21/64 hole in it. I tried this and it helped the hang but caused a hunting low to high cold idle (660-1000-660-1000).

A wooden dowell rod? Or some sort of plastic? What diameter dowell? Is there something about this on Mr. Roe's site?
