Hello, I'm a new owner of a 96 GTS in Florida. A few weeks after purchasing the car I was out cruising the beach. After a few stops, the car lost power to the door locks and would start fine and only run a few seconds. Had the car towed home and deposited back in the garage. At that point I had to find someone to talk to about the car that was knowledgeable in Vipers or could direct me to someone who would know. I started searching the Internet and came across the VCA, and browsed the posts for any information on my situation.
Somewhere in there I found a post to John B. at Partsrack.com. After talking to John on the phone for 10 minutes, I was heading home to put the battery on a charger. After the battery had charged, I disconnected the battery for a minute and then put it back on. This gave the security computer a chance to reset itself. At that point I heard the electric doors shift position and I knew the car was alive again. A new battery was all that was needed to correct the problem, and has been running great for more than 500 miles since. Thanks John, (from Parts Rack), for the advice and the extras that came with my order.

WELCOME! Weak batteries cause a LOT of problems in Vipers...

The irony is, this guy was heading down an alarm-EEU replacemnt road from the dealer, etc, etc.

Glad to be of help.....
