I was just woundering if the nav. unit in the '08/'09 vipers has the six disc changer in it or not?

Mine does not. In order to use the NAV, you must remove the single CD and replace it with the NAV CD.

We just purchased an 08 I was dumbfounded to find that I had to have the NAV CD in place to use the NAV unit.

You can always add a 6 CD player in the back which is what I did,but it ***** that you have to.

Mine has the 6 CD player, One Nav disc 5 Music discs.

From pics i've seen of the unit the #1 button is Disc up and the #5 button is the disc down but I wasn't sure since i've never heard of it refered as a six disc player.

Are you sure? From the factory? All the nav radios were supposed to be 1 disc.
Heck, the REGULAR non nav radio only had one disc in 08, what a step back that was.
Story I heard is that they found a bunch of 1 disc ones left over and used them up in Viper.

This may turn into a question for Herb. Can we get the thread moved?
My 06 (RBQ) had the multi-disk changer, within the head unit. But the RB1 I installed did not.
Honestly, CDs are going to go the same direction cassette tapes did years ago, away... Buy a Mopar Ipod kit and leave the Nav. CD in at all times (it takes a while to load, after you remove it)... You will not believe how nice the Ipod kit works, and how well it integrates with the Ipod and the unit.
