Heard through the grapvine that someone in the North suburbs of Chicago got nailed going 165mph in their Viper GTS

Heard it took a lot of $$ and connections to keep him out of jail.

Whoever it was they obviously weren't practicing the "TooFast" method.

I heard about some guy driving 175 mph on the NJ Tpk at 3:00 AM with no headlights. Rumor has it that he was wearing night vision goggles. Don't know if it's true but it's a cool story regardless.

This guy got caught so it wasn't him

This guy must have not known he was clocked and when he was driving normal speeds the trooper caught up to him. Unless he just stopped on his own
confused.gif
Passing a stationary tropper at 165mph would have given you an opportunity to exit before the trooper even gets going.

I'll try to find out more info from my buddy that told me.

Birvini...the Vette guys planned a Starved Rock cruise today only if the weather was good. I believe the backup plan was to go to ******* for lunch. I couldn't do either outings because I played some football with my buds. No major injuries to report but I'll be very sore tomorrow

It's a weird feeling when you think you are running all out and you are just at jogging speed

We're going to have to get the local Viper guys to do something.

Also, this morning around 3:30 a.m., I ran up on a white RT/10 with blue stripes on 355 going north. Anyone know who that was?

ZX- I can never seem to do anything with the Vette club. Always seems to conflict with work. It would be good to get some of the local Viper folks together. Whenever you hear of anything, let me know!!!!

CycleRyan...I never ran my bike at the track for fear of my life
smile.gif
I would love to someday but have raced it on the street a few times. Cycle World magazine had the ZX11 doing 10.2X in the 1/4 at 140mph or so if memory serves me right. I have full exhaust and headers on the bike with some Performance Machine wheels. I dynoed the bike years ago at 138rwhp whick isn't too bad for no motor work. You hung in there pretty good if it only got you by a car or so
smile.gif
I haven't had a chance to race any Vipers yet but all other comers were dusted pretty good

I know there was a duo south of DC who got busted a few years back drug running in a Vector with nightvision gogs. Its begining to sound more urban legend than fact, but I do know the DEA auctioned a Vector out that year so...

I've got a good pair of NVGs. The problem with driving fast with them would be bloom from any headlights pointed your way from the other side of a divided highway. If there were no car lights or highway lights, I think it would be workable. I've never tried to drive with mine but I'm thinking it would be something one would need to train for. I don't think someone could just jump in the car and drive fast with them.
It would be very easy to rig the car with IR headlights. This would be invisible to anyone without NVGs.
I'm editing this just to say that I think that actually driving with them would be way too irresponsible to be really fun. Talking about as a point of speculation is ok.
