I have owned my 05 GenIII for several months now and have put over 4K miles on it. I have taken it to Viper Days and drive it whenever I can. I mention that because I don't want you to think I don't drive the car and that what Im noticing is something from when me just starting it up in the garage to listen too
. Not bashing the garage qeen cars. OK so to my observation and question. Whenever I park the car in the garage I pop the hood to let the engine cool faster and to look around and check for any problems. I have noticed nearly everytime that the Factory Air box is always very hot. If you put your hand inside the box and feel the bottom under your filters you will notice (especially if the fans been on) that it get realy hot! I may not be the brightest tool in the shed but from what I know having our engines gulping warm air isn't beneficial. I am wondering if anyone has looked at insulating the bottom of the air box (or the whole thing) to keep the incoming air at outside temps before making it into the throttle body?
