Not sure I have seen a discussion regarding SRT brake pads.

I have been pretty satisfied with the stock pads. However last year I experienced the pads overtemping while on the track. What is a good compromise pad. One that is good for the street (not too much dust, minimal squeal and decent feel/pressure) and also good for track use with street tires?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks, I forgot about that thread.

Sounds like Brakeman 3's are the answer, though I will probably change them out between events if they squeal too much.

Ron,

I've been running the Brakeman 3's and not changing back to EBCs between events. Since doing the 40MM brake upgrade in the fall of 04, I put the B3s on and never went back. I really like the way they work. If anything, less squealing than OEM on the Gen II. The dust isn't even that bad. Nothing a California Dash Duster doesn't quickly take of in most circumstances.

When you first get back from the track, the rotors are sufficiently coated that the BM3s don't squeak at all at first. But after a couple days of street driving, the coating wears off and the BM3s squeak like crazy (at least for me). In addition to the noise, I understand that BM3s are ******* rotors too. Accordingly, I switch to EBC Greens for the street when I take off my track wheels. It only takes about an extra two or three minutes per wheels, so why not.

Brake man 3's work well. They are a good compromise pad.

They do squeal when cold, which is most of the time on the street. I couldn't care less, but my wife hates the squealing.

They are relatively dusty too for the street.

And as Vipera Russelli says, they are pretty quiet when you first get back from the track. They begin squealing again shortly.

My rotors are now very shiny, indicating that the B 3's are taking some material off too. More than the stock pads.

If I were going to run them on the track, and I do, I would change them went I returned to street driving.

Good luck,

Dan

I'm planning on changing my brake pads too.
Have any of you guys used Hawk pads on your Viper? How is the performance compared to Brakeman 3? What rotors do you guys use? Any issues with aftermarket rotors clearing the wheels and brake calipers?
