StopTech Brake kit on a 2000 GTS ?

I was wondering how much this StopTech kit improves the breaking performance with a 14'' front rotor. How much the breaking distance is reduced ?
Thanks for the feed backs ? Is there a new proportional valve that comes with the kit ?

I use the front only big brake kit on my 99 and it is truly awesome. i was on a road course with a ferrari owner in the car and even he was impressed with the stopping power of the stoptechs. no new proportional valve... complete stock replacement.

Front only kit reduces the front caliper piston size to shift the balance of brake clamping force rearward. You can get the same mathematical balance with larger 38mm rear calipers (and OEM fronts.)

Step 2 would be 40mm rear calipers, again increasing overall clamping force, but shifting braking balance rearward a little more. This configuration provides over 1.0 G's deceleration performance.

In another version of Step 2, 38mm rear calipers with StopTech front calipers. ChuckB has this with good results.

All with OEM proportional valve, OEM rotor and knuckle compatible.

I'm still testing what the best tire/balance setup is with ST fronts and Tom's 38 rears. The car definitly stops better, but rear lockup is possible.

I do. not trying to get in the way of everyone trying to sell their stuff, but I'll tell you that at the time, i did a ton of research and settled on the ST 14" (355mm) front-only kit. It is great for both the street and the track. only problem is with drag racing if you run slicks and skinnies... the front calipers are so big that i needed to get a "custom off-set" front skinny pair. Purner makes these now, BTW.

I have never locked up the ST's with the stock rears. I run Brakeman 3's all around at the track and either the same on the street or BM 3's on the rear with EBC greens (which **** , btw) on the fronts.

JD is right, 14" Big Brakes on the front limit you using drag race wheels, wheel to caliper clearance a issue, but that'with any big brake kit you use.

My Big Brake Kits are available as fronts only, for those only wanting 14" Big Brakes on the fronts , keeping their stocks rears(or for non ABS cars, Using Tom's spec rears). That's a plug Tom
