Ive been noticing an odd sound (like metal brushing metal) when the car is ideling. It goes away when I drive (maybe due to additional noise?) and when the clutch is to the floor.

Should I be concerned? Any thoughts as to what it might be?

I'm sure some of the more experienced members will chime in but are you talking about the normal neutral gear chatter? Most Gen I and II Vipers have a chattering sound when idling in neutral that is nothing to worry about. Kind of sounds like what you described.

That sounds like what I am experiencing. That eases my mind to hear. Hopefully others can confirm that as well.

Thanks for the reply!

Very normal... I believe it's the downside of forged pistons. The 01-02 creampuffs don't have neutral rattle. Small price to pay for sturdier pistons. :2tu:
