I have 2 small nicks on my car that were already started to be touched up. Now I have a small mount of paint there and was wondering how to complete the job. Sandpaper then polish? if so, what kind of sandpaper and what grit? any other tips for touching up other nicks would be appreciated. Thanks gtsKlinger :2tu:

Iceman's tip is a good one. I have been using Langka with good results for quite some time. Takes a few time to get the hang of it...but it does work. Sure beats sanding.

If you REALLY want to wetsand out the touched up area....Meguiars makes a wet or dry sandpaper called Unigrit. I have it in 2000 and 3000 grit. Follow up with some Blue Coral Scratch Remover to get rid of any sanding marks. Of course, follow with a good wax-polish for protection.

A few other tips. Soak the sandpaper in a soap and water mixture for quite a while first. (I keep some paper in a container with water and a drop or two of soap.) Keep the area you are sanding wet.
