Transmission noises

I've noticed that since the day I first drove my car that when I shift from 4th into 5th or 6th, I hear a slight grinding noise as it goes into gear. Once in gear, the transmission sounds fine. I don't hear it with 1st-4th nor reverse. Anyone else have this problem (if it is a problem)?

Not sure what you mean when you say synchros. Have you ever noticed anything like that on your 98?
