I am thinking about selling my 1992 RT/10 and was wondering how much you guys thought I could get for it. It has less than 5,000 miles, the paint and interior are both in good condition but the radio is not original. Thanks for the help.

Check the classifieds and ebay. Then pop the $30 to take out an ad here. It gets good exposure that way.

They only made about 250 in '92, right? So it's nearly as collectable as a GTSR?

If you don't need to sell - ask high and sell if you get high bucks. Keep it if you don't. As a true collector car advertise the serial # as I think they were sequential and there's a difference in Value according to the lower #'s.

When I went in and looked at the originals in the Dealership #115 sold for $15,000 more than a higher #177. I sure I have the numbers wrong, but they are approximate.

I might be an expert....so here's some questions that would matter to me.....

Has the car had any paint work?
Does it still have the original tires?
Condition of Wheels?
Does it have an owners manual?
Does it have floor mats?
Does it come with a top and windows. If so, what condition are they in?
How is the interior, has the dashed cracked or been touched up?
Any head gasket issues?
Does it have the matching engraved number on the hood with the vin, in 92 Dodge produced 236 units and built 600 hoods as it was the first year and they had alignment issues, do you have one of the numbered 236 US hoods that were built?

I ask these questions for two reasons, one I've always wanted one of these, and two I'm the Admin. here and I feel a sort of a fiduciary responsibility to uncover anything wrong with what is probably going to be a collector car if I have some knowledge about the year and model. And as you are not a VCA member I should be pulling this post until I charge you for a ad. But in the interest of exposure to a rare car that may be of interest to the members I will leave the thread up IF you respond with answers. Maybe you will sell it here. But no answers and this is going away.
Seem fair?

Then perhaps it was the hood plate # mentioned by Lee00blacksilvergts that I was referring to? 1992 was a lonnnng time ago.

Lee - I completely respect your stance. Although the mileage is great, I am not going to try and represent this as the perfect collectors car. It is in great condition, but it is a 15 year old car.

Has the car had any paint work? Yes, although there is no evidence of it being in an accident, there is evidence of the hood and trunk being painted.
Does it still have the original tires? Yes
Condition of Wheels? Pretty good, some minor scratches.
Does it have an owners manual? No
Does it have floor mats? Yes, but I've been told they are not original.
Does it come with a top and windows. If so, what condition are they in? Yes it does come with a top and windows and they are in good condition.
How is the interior, has the dashed cracked or been touched up? They dash has been painted.
Any head gasket issues? Not that I can tell.
Does it have the matching engraved number on the hood with the vin, in 92 Dodge produced 236 units and built 600 hoods as it was the first year and they had alignment issues, do you have one of the numbered 236 US hoods that were built? No the engraving on the hood does not match the vin.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

Good so far....

As for the head gasket issue, which they all pretty much had, have you had a dealer run the history to make sure it has been done? You should run that history in any case as it's the first thing any serious buyer will want. If you don't have a dealer that will do it, I do, so pm me the VIN or post it here and I will get it run tomorrow.
What is the owner history, how many owners and do you have a paper trail of owners?
How did you acquire the car?
Are you in the car sales biz?
Where is the car located?
As the car obviously has a few issues, repaint, exterior and interior and most importantly the missing hood vin what are you going to ask price wise? Do you have a range so far? At first blush I don't think this is a top money car, no insult intended.
And most importantly does the car have a clean carfax? If you have not run it pm me the vin if you don't want to put it on the board and we can run it as we check vins routinely.

If the car hasn't been driven then it probably doesn't have a failed head gasket. There are a whole set of issues related to the early cars that I have worked through, but they won't become issues if the car is parked.

Value? The problem with that is... I don't want to infuence in any way what the market could bring. That being said, My guess low 40's

The gentleman selling the car pm'd me and has politely declined to answer my second round of questions "in public." I think that sends a large message if the questions are reviewed. And I was pretty sure I knew the answers already. I did a little more private research as I originally thought I had encountered this car before, and I was right. This is a solid thumbs down unless priced under 30k in my humble opinion. Anyone who is still interested should just pm me. I don't want to bash the seller "in public" any more than I already have with this post.

Wow, Lee. That was both very diplomatic and helpful to the 'seller'. Plus, it gives members all the eyes and ears they need on this topic to pursue further if interested.

Seems an honest description in a longish PAID ad should get all parties on the same realistic page. Well done.
