Hi ViperBite,
Below is most of the info you need now.
Give us a call or e-mail me if you need further assistance.
Front Panel Indicator Lights and Smart Card Write Button Functions (from left to right):
- LED #1, Green, Power. Indicates power is on.
- LED #2, Red, User selectable features (activated in the Box Configuration menu).
- LED #3, Red, System busy or error. Lights steady during the reading or writing of a Smart Card. Flashes if there is a system or card error. Steady on with the #4 green LED indicates the last card function was a write to the card.
- LED #4, Green, Smart Card read / write. Flashes when card read complete. Steady on after a card writes with the #3 LED.
Pushbutton, writes current settings from the VEC2 to Smart Card (allowed only in UNLOCKED mode). Push button before sliding card into slot, otherwise, it will read the card instead of writing.
VEC2 Smart Cards
The VEC2's Smart Cards are actually small computer chips that contain fuel and timing curve programs that operate the engine. They are durable and can be kept in the car or in your wallet. You can have an unlimited number of cards (programs), with settings for different fuel, boost, nitrous, injector sizes, etc.
To upload a new Smart Card into your VEC2:
1. Turn the key (power) on. The far left green LED will illuminate.
2. Slide the Smart Card into the VEC2, gold chip side face up and forward into the slot.
3. The red #3 LED will illuminate momentarily while the card is being read. Once the card is read, the light will go out and the green #4 LED will begin to flash.
4. Remove the card.
To write your current program to a Smart Card:
1. Turn the key (power) on. The far left green LED will illuminate.
2. Press the write button to the right of the LED's and hold.
3. Slide the Smart Card into the VEC2, gold chip side face up and forward into the slot.
4. The red #3 LED will illuminate while the card is being written. Once the card is written, the green #4 LED will also illuminate. Once the green LED comes on, the writing is complete and you may remove the card. The VEC2 will only write to the card if in the unlocked mode (see software manual for details).
The more of a change in the program being written to, or read from, a Smart Card, the longer the process will take (from one half second to about 3 seconds).
If the third red LED flashes when a card is installed, this indicates and error (i.e. wrong card for that system or dirty connection). When this light flashes, the VEC2 did not accept the program you were attempting to load. Try wiping off the card and re-loading. Otherwise, it may not be properly coded for that VEC2.
Regards,
Sean
