I've had the Viper for a few days now and not sure if the virbrating noise by the door sill is normal (?). The noise is coming from the driver side, not too far from the hood and i don't hear it shakes or rattle all the time. I can't really describe the sound, maybe "rattle" might be a better choice of word. Maybe it's b/c i didn't close the hood properly? I'm pretty sure that i closed the hood properly (read the manual, watched the tape and read "closing the hood" in the archives). My apologies if i'm not doing a good job of describing this. Any thoughts on this would very much be appreciated. Thank you. I forgot to add that this is a 2002 GTS.

Plenty of VA/MD club members to hook up with in MD to take a listen / look before you pull the side sill and see if something in the exhaust system is rattling.

They'll check in soon I am sure......

Check your door hinge. See if anything is loose/broken. I've heard of the door hinge spring/metal piece breaking off and getting between the door sill/side sill and rattling. Of course your door wouldn't stay open when you opened it if the spring was broken. Also check the hinge cover (the fiberglass piece between the hood and the door) to see if it has come loose at all. I guess these two go hand in hand though. Hing cover covers the hinge, so you have to remove it to look at hinge. I need to go to bed.....

If nothing else, try banging with your hand lightly on the door, hinge cover, and side sill to see if anything rattles.
