Viper Days is coming to VIR July 18th, 19th & 20th, 2003!

Hello Viper Drivers:

VIR will be our 4th event of the Eastern Region!! We would like to thank CYBERSPEED RACING for sponsoring this event. Below you will find the details for the vir event. If this is your first event of the year, please go to www.viperdays.com and fill out the application and Med+Stats forms online. If nothing has changed in your medical history please fill in your name and age and press send. Once you have filled them out press send. Once I receive them I will e-mail you back a confirmation! We will be running the North course (on Fri.) clockwise and the Full road course (on Sat & Sun) clockwise.

*****Safety Equipment: Although safety is ultimately the responsibility of the driver, Viper Days' MINIMUM requirements are:******

Helmets must be Snell 95 or newer AND less than 5 years old. Motorcycle helmets require a balaclava.
Long sleeve shirt, long pants, soft sole enclosed toe shoes, gloves required for all classes.
Driver's Suit (2 layer min), Nomex Gloves, Neck Restraint required for Unlimited, Comp Coupe Unlimited classes.
Neck Restraint highly recommended for all classes.
RT/10's must have a roll bar or hardtop.
SRT/10's must have a roll bar; hard top is NOT allowed
Fire extinguisher required for Unlimited Class
5 or 6 point harnesses mandatory for SRT/10's.
5 or 6 point harnesses mandatory for all other cars if you attend 3 or more events per year with Viper Days!! .
5 or 6 Point Harnesses must be safety clipped for all classes.

TIRE UPDATE:
The new DOT tire the "Michelin Pilot Sport Cup” will be available in adequate quantities for the Mid-America event. With that said the Michelin Challenge Series will be on Michelin Tires exclusively. The Michelin Sport Cup tires to be run in the Super Mod and Unlimited classes. Please order your Sport Cup or street tires from Bobby Archer. 800-696-0264 ALL TIRE ORDERS MUST BE RECEIVED BY WEDNESDAY JULY 9TH BY 6PM 800-696-0264 OR YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY TIRES FOR THE EVENT!!

TRACKSIDE SERVICE:
Archer Racing Accessories will be on hand to do full trackside service and repair from alignments to performance modifications and safety improvement. We will also have a great display of other viper memorabilia and accessories. Please call John for your car’s appointment. 218-727-4806.


GATE:
This event is considered a NON-SPECTATOR event. I MUST have the EXACT number of guests that each driver is planning to have visit or stay during the entire weekend. If you exceed your # that is on the gate list they will NOT allow you in the facility and I cannot help! Track rules!


TRAILER/RIG PARKING:
You can drop off ONLY on Thursday from 5:30-6:30pm. NO SET UP IS ALLOWED! You can come in anytime on Friday from 7am-9:30pm. Set up is allowed!

CAMPERS/MOTORCOACHES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CAMP ON THE PROPERTY OVERNIGHT! You can move outside the gates to sleep. NO Exceptions Call close camping areas 800-578-2434 or 336-599-4343!

SAT PM DINNER:
Will be at the Knights of Colombus Banquet Hall. Located approx 1 miles from the Dabville hotels! I will have directions to that dinner at the track! The dinner that night will be a buffett so no food choice is necessary!

FRIDAY TEST & TUNE: NORTH COURSE ONLY, we might be allowed to do the full course when the other group is done later that afternoon. Friday will be open for “advanced drivers” for a test and tune day. No rookies are allowed. 8:30am-5:30pm we will be running 2 run groups all day!! $250 full day no lunch and $175 for half day no lunch 1-5pm. Call Courtney for approval.

FRIDAY NIGHT ARRIVAL: 6PM until 9PM at the Club House at the track . Check in and register at the reception with hors d’oeuvres. Tech. inspection will occur all day Friday at the track or Saturday morning. Please join us for hors d’oeuvres, drinks and some Viper Tales. A Viper tech inspection tip: empty your glove box and trunk at the hotel instead of the track.
GUEST PACKAGE: For those who do not wish to put their car on the track and/or guests, we offer a food package of the reception, two catered lunches and a banquet for $125.00 per person. For Dinner ONLY $45 Children will be given a discount, must call Courtney for details!!

SATURDAY: If arriving on Saturday morning, be at the track by 6:00AM for registration and tech inspection. MANDATORY drivers meeting at 7:45. The track will go hot at 8:30. Classroom instruction begins at 8:30 AM, Banquet TBD

Call Courtney to register. 1/2 off is being offered for first timers - that's a TREMENDOUS deal. that's for 2 full days, but do come out Friday and spectate at the advnaced test and tune day, get the lay of the land, have any service performed at Archer Racing, etc. You'll have a BLAST!

Carolinas Region will be there en force- you can be an honorary member for the weekend if you'd like. Stop on over- you won't be able to miss us.

Tom is right. Where can you get HOURS of seat time on world renouned tracks for $325? GA and Carolina members....take the offer. Viper Days is as much fun as VOI.

Russ, i was reading CT's post and i can not find out where it says that you can join in the Viper Days fun for $325. In CT's post i come up to $865.00 for a Friday test, and Saturday, Sunday. If you want to race in the race group it then goes to $ 1,015.00. If you can get me in for $325.00 i'll be there ready to rock. Heck if you can even get me in for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and the race group for $500.00
i'm committed.

ok, now im confused, for a first timer like myself whats the bottom line to have some fun for three days?

Hemi, here's the deal (I think). If you are a first-timer, you are entitled to: 1) half off your entry. I think that the entry is something like $685 which means that you'd pay $342.50. 2) Friday is an extra charge because it is an open track day that is not part of the Viper Days competition. First-timers cannot run on Friday as it is for the more experienced and faster drivers. (You'll be there after your first time) 3) You are not elgible to enter the wheel to wheel racing until you have done three Michelin Challenge Days events at Viper Days. The Michelin Challenge series is a TIMED event. All the cars are on the track at the same time, but the awards are based on who has the fastest lap time. This event will definitely get your heart pumping. Many of the cars in the Challenge Series are turning in lap times faster than cars in the wheel to wheel race (Viper Racing League).
My recommendation is that you sign up and enjoy the $342.50 savings. Run your car in the Challenge Series and see how you do. You won't know how you feel about getting into the wheel to wheel race until you do that. If you're driving an SRT you have to have a roll bar. If you're driving an RT you have to have the hard top.
Hope to see you at VIR. I'm told that it's one of the very best tracks in the series.

Friday is NOT included in the 1/2 off coupon. Like everyone above said it is for advanced drivers only. If you are an advanced driver then it will cost you $174 for 1/2 day or $250 for the full day! plus the $330 for the other 2 days.
