Viper Racer \"helps save a life\" at the track ...

I should probably forward this to ViperMag for a follow up:

At the recent Rose Cup Races in Portland, WA-VCA member "Doc" Roger Stark, (Cardiac Racing #28, 1998 Viper GTS -SCCA-TI ) won 3 of 3 races, and the following weekend won 2 of 2, against some tough Corvette and Zo6 and Speedvision Challenge cars at Portland. What he did in the paddock was even more impressive.

Quoting from THE LOUD PEDAL, the Oregon SCCA newsletter:

"Hero Medals are in order for drivers Roger Stark, Randi Ledbetter, and the ambulance crew......for their exceptional life-saving measures in keeping a crewman alive during a serious heart attack event at Rose Cup Races....Roger is a cardiac surgeon, and Randi a former OB/GYN. Thanks to prompt medical intervention, the crewman was able to survive with no deficits. When you see these heroes, pat them on the back. They are indeed lifesavers and we are very fortunate to have them at our events."

Congrats Roger!

Remember the yellow Nay-Kid Racing Viper Auto-X champ last year? Cover car in SCCA Racer Mag? It was THEIR crewmember !

Ironic. The SCCA forums had a thread where the corvette T1 drivers were complaining about the Viper and requesting that the car be handicapped. I forget whether they wanted restrictors or weights. Scotty B. White got into a heated discussion with someone who was saying that the Corvette drivers were whiners since they kept losing to Bobby Archer, and others in their Vipers. Now we have a Viper competitor who is credited with saving a NayKid Racing (Scotty's team) crewman's life.

The canary yellow Viper from NayKid Racing belongs to Scotty B., and his wife LiNay is who won the Autocross title in it...
