Viper stuck in 4th gear

I was coming home last night and shifted from 3rd to 4th, and the car got stuck in 4th. The clutch would still engage/disengage, but it would not come out of gear. Any ideas? I know I'm going to have to drop the transmission, I just hope it's something easy to fix.

It doesn't grind, it just won't come out of 4th gear. I shifted pretty hard and now it's a 1 speed car. I had to stop and take off in 4th gear a few times and the clutch wasn't happy about it.

I would try pulling the shifter off before dropping th tranny... Much easier, may save you some headache, time and money.

Sounds like a possibly bent shift fork.
