As some of you may recall, my pristine ’94 RT/10 was hit by a young nineteen year old kid driving daddy’s supercharged Harley Davidson Ford F150. Even though the facts clearly showed the Ford driver at fault, the police officer cited us both for “careless operation of a motor vehicle”.

Since then, I challenged the citation. It was dismissed very quickly but now the hard part, dealing with the insurance company. What I though was going to be a total nightmare went very smoothly, thanks to Woodhouse Dodge, Blair, NE, more specifically Bill Pemberton (Nancy Shanno help out also). My insurance hired a firm to do an appraisal of the damages. The figures that came in were ridiculously way off base. Knowing this I turned to Bill. Woodhouse had serviced my RT and I wouldn’t trust anyone else but them (I’m anal this way but I’ll get more to that later). If I had to trailer it up there to have them look at it, I was prepared to do this even if it meant I wouldn’t get reimbursed. Bill was a huge help in dealing with them. My insurance company, which I had an agreed amount value with on the RT, deemed it a total loss. With payment on the way, time to look for a new Viper.

Never feeling I had to buy from Woodhouse in-light-of the big help Bill provided, I started looking around. Having had a RT, I really wanted to try a GTS. I found a few I liked but the prices were a little out of reach. Again, Bill to the rescue. He had what I wanted and made it work. At this point I’m a little skeptical about flying halfway across the country to purchase a car I have not seen. I explained to Bill my anal tendencies that I like things a certain way i.e. near perfect as can be.

A few days before picking up my new ride, a real nightmare happened. I was on the job traveling through Baton Rouge in my wife’s Lincoln when I was involved in a three car collision. I’ve never had a car wreck in my life till I moved to Louisiana a year ago. Now it seems I’m having accidents, flat tires and broken windshields all the time! The Lincoln was damaged badly. Bad enough to total it out! Yes, two cars totaled in six weeks. I’m thinking there’s no way I’m going to be able to pull this off financially and emotionally (wife’s emotions) in getting the GTS. After promising the moon to the misses, I was good for “go”. As far as the funds go, I had decided not to get an extended warranty even though it went against my better judgment. I had got the warranty with the RT and used it twice, engine and tranny. Big $$ glad I had it then.

I flew into Omaha and Woodhouse picked me up. Let me tell you, Bill is more anal than me. The GTS was better than anticipated. Just flawless. I told him my sob story about wrecking the miss’s car and had to opt-out of the warranty purchase. Again Bill Pemberton to the rescue. He made it work for me.

In summary, the Woodhouse staff i.e. Bill Pemberton and Nancy Shanno is awesome. Whatever I could throw at them (situations) they handled it and made it work. These are top notch people. I was telling Bill and Nancy that I was going to play a joke on my wife and say I got into another wreck while driving the GTS home. Once again, Woodhouse to the rescue and suggested that I don’t. I just love those people...
