Qualifying for the six cars in attendance as follows

Genuine Street (11.50)
Edgar Perez (Corvette)
Ernie King (Corvette)
Dick Link (Corvette)
Paul Ziajski (Viper)

Serious Street (10.50)
Jerry Land (Corvette)

Extreme Street (9.50)
John Carter (Corvette)

First round of Genuine
Ernie and Dick gave us an OUTSTANDING race when both driver cut almost identical lights and ran 11.95 to 11.96. Number 3 Link got the win by .053 at the stripe.

The one vs four race ended up being a competition bye as Paul's clutch in his Viper was acting up so he passed to save it for the five hour drive back home so I took the win.

Second round Genuine was me vs Link.
Link went in deep, I tapped an extra bump and he treed the crap out of me. However he spun a little and I caught and crossed the stripe ahead of him by .2

Serious Street
With only car in the class we had Jerry run John (without nitrous) and he easily took the win.

Extreme Street
Again Jerry vs. John (this time all out with the Nitrous. Both cars all out were about half second apart so this was going to good race.
In an odd race, Carter goes red (pro tree so he jump way early) and when Jerry went to leave, car popped out of gear. Jerry took the win in two classes. Way to go.

I sure wish there were some Vipers to go with these Vettes.

I was very disappointed to see no Vipers other than my own. I drove over 5 hours each way in hopes of meeting other Viper owners and putting up some competition against the Vettes. I WAS THE ONLY VIPER THERE. Pitiful. And, to top it all off, my clutch went and I had to drop out after the first qualifying run which meant that there were NO Vipers in the eliminations. I drove over 5 hours each way to run 4 time trials and 1 qualifying run (which I had to abort).

Guys, seriously, we have killer cars and we should show what they can do on the track. I can't believe that there are no Viper owners within an hour or two of MIR that could have participated. This could be a great series if we get more Vipers to come out and race. You don't have to be a seasoned drag racer to participate. I ran a bone stock 2001 RT/10 on street tires. No mods, no drag radials, no problem. No need to spend extra money on mods; our cars run very strong in stock form. In 91+ degree temps and ridiculous humidity I still managed to run a 12.14 @ 116.67 mph. If I can do it, so can YOU!

Hats off to all participants who decided to make the long jorney to MIR.

The series goes to Atco second week of November. I hope it'll be Vettes vs. Viper and not Vettes vs. Vettes again. I'm bringing both cars just in case.

I still have to contact Atco for some rental days where we can have our own shootout, Jeff.

All the genuine (11.50) cars were in the 117 MPH range.

The other too, I cannot recall

Far as I know, Atco is not firmed up yet

Paul, it was great to meet you at MIR. We were rooting for you as Edgar has won to darned many of these events. Edgar, just kidding. Paul, thanks for representing the Snakes. BTW, wifey thinks that has to be one of the best looking snakes she has seen. Atco should be a killer program. See ya soon.
