The first thing I would check is the Idle Air Control. Carbon builds up on them and will cause the car to stall. Had that problem with my 94, pull up to a stop and the engine died. Cleaned the IAC and Throttle Bodies and that cured the problem.

Also, check your battery! A slightly lower than needed voltage can confuse the idle control sensor. Leading to stallout during decelleration.

FYI: Battery doesn't have to be completely dead... and could in fact, seem very normal, as it could have enough power to start the V10!

Mine did the same thing the other day after I had not driven it for a few weeks. IT would not idle. After warming it up a bit for a few miles on the interstate, problem is gone and hasn;t returned.

I second the battery notion. you'd be amazed what gremelins can appear in the viper with a slightly-less-than-new battery. if the battery is more than 2 years old, start there.

I'll second the Idle Air Control and TB cleaning. I removed the IAC and it comes apart in two pieces. I cleaned all this out. Runs great now.

Your problem is in the spark plugs or ignition wires. It's the unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust. Better check it fast. Let us know when you find out.

That also probably explains why your V10 was feeling like a V8. It's surprising that OBDII hasn't triggered on the "Check Engine" light yet.
