VOI 9 is in Las Vegas, on September 24-28, 2006. (and Reno Viper Days is the 29/30/1)

The Venetian is the hotel of choice, with large rooms (700 sq ft each) and parking next to the front door.

There are to be 900 rooms reserved for the Viper Club.

See ya there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gottaviper,

The last two VOI's , we had to ship our cars, because they were too far from us out here in California. It is really painless. You just contact "Reliable" They are the company most of us use. They do a real nice job. It is pretty painless. Vegas is a "Real" party town. It will not be like going to some old country western bar to eat BBQ. There will be so much to do, you might want to spend an extra couple of days to see shows, etc.

So for those of us that attended the previous VOI in vegas what new will this one have to offer? Last time we drove through Death Valley (and Rhyolite and some small desert towns), drove through the valley of fire, drove up to mount Charlston, drove down to Hoover dam and lake Meade, Laughlin and a ride on old Route 66. Come to think of it we did see a lot (though we spent a week there before VOI). :)

OK people, not to doubt CODY, but wouldn't this announcement come from the VCA president? Also, VOI has usually been Wednesday thru Sunday, Monday thru Thursday. I am doubtfull on this :p :p

Thought the same thing, not to be negative but was a little worried. Found some more info:

FROM THE SOURCE:

"Of course this is tentative based on we haven’t signed a contract with the hotel yet.

But it does look like we are going to Vegas in the Fall but no dates as or yet."

I'm at the Venetian RIGHT NOW, and don't see where they can allow a large number of Vipers park. Right outside the front door is the cab pickup and registration check-ins. How many Vipers are we expecting ballpark?

BTW, their Valet parking is one of the worst in Vegas, second only to the Bellagio. You have to drive around the back and into the parking lot to valet. Then hike a mile just to get to anywhere from the garage. What's the point of valet parking if you have to drive it into the lot for them?

Talking about VALET parking and VIPERs is a contradiction (or should I say plain nonsens) in itself...especially, when 600 (750?) snakes are there!

BTW, walking isn't bad for the health at all.

For those who are unfamiliar with Vegas life: prices drop by as much as 70% for hotel rooms from Sunday to Thursday. Service is twice better during week-days.

I presume the reason to have the VIO during week-days is to have a better service and better prices. For me it is perfect.

I didn't even notice that it was during the week. That's even better!

I am absolutely IN on this one. Awesome! Anyone want to work on a "group buy" for transport from the Ohio area? How many cars can a Reliable truck hold? If we could get 4-5 cars together we might be able to get a deal on the package.

If the VCA has 900 rooms blocked off then figure 700 or so Vipers. I expect that the Venetian will block off a floor for us in their garage on the south side of the property although someone from JR Thompson should know exactly what is planned for parking. There is easy access from the garage into the casino - you never have to go outside once the car is in the garage. I'm not sure where you're getting this "hike a mile" comment. Granted, I have never valet'ed my car at the Venetian, but I have parked in their garage walked into the casino there many times. Furthermore, I do not expect to valet my Viper during VOI, instead I plan on parking with the rest of the Viper contigent.
