What is the best tire pressure and launch rpm for the street on BFG\'s?

Finally, the weather is good and we're going to run at midnight! The racing will be on a closed track of course
My DLM sc car and his Z06 nitrous corvette. He beat me once before I had the DLM supercharger. I bought a set of BFG drag radials and they stick REAL GOOD but I was wondering for those who have more experience than I do what is the best launch rpm and tire pressure if I were to race on the street? (not that i'm going to). These BFG's are much better than the factory tires .

I think 16 lbs yields the best traction.

Thats about right on pressure......practice the rpm launch....your power is a little different. My guess would be about 2000 - 2500 and ease out on the clutch as you ease in on the throttle. practice, practice

report back! YOu should wipe him up! There was just a person on this board who's friend has a stock C-5 with 100 shot vs his stock viper and the viper still smoked him... I can't see you having a problem..

15psi best. but launch rpm ive no odea as youve way more power than i

Gerald, I don't know what kind of work he had done to his car when we raced and my car was stock at the time but he's always working on it and it's loud.

On the street run the bfgs 18-20 psi, and with your Dlm beast I wouldnt launch past 2000 rpms. You will bog a little but it's alot better than spinning on the line Once you shift into 2nd you will be able to got wot and whoop his a$$ That Vette is prob running heads/cam setup if he was able to beat you previously.

You need to make some practice starts giving the tires a good spin. On the same pavement you're going to race would be best, but anywhere will suffice.
Get out and look at your footprint on the ground.
If the footprint on the pavement looks light in the middle, then more psi is needed. If it looks heavier in the middle and light on the edges then less psi is needed.
Best tire pressure is simply the one that puts the flatest footprint on the ground.
