Was wondering with all of the talk of the creampuff vs non, GTS or RT10. What was the fastest Viper Dodge produced (non SRT, of course)?

1996-1997, hands down.

sorry Stugots, you expanded the group too big. rt/10s are great cars, but they have a higher coeficient of drag. So even with the same HP, the Coupes would be faster.

also the 96 and 97 have consistenly dynoed higher then the 98 and up cars. So really it IS 96-97 GTS are the strongest.

98 - 99 also have forged pistons and the same 708 cam so why would that be?

I guess I should have clarified it some but I dont really know. I know the ACR's and the GT2's have the 10 extra HP from the smooties and K&N's (I think the GT2's did). Did that make a noticable difference? I was just wondering if there was a "documented" strongest Viper. On paper what should be the fastest.

The ACRs should be the fastest, but only slightly. And smoothies and filters evens that playing field.

This BS about RT/10 vs GTS vs Creampuffs vs blah, blah, blah, is just that...BS. There is no significant difference in 1/4 mile performance from 96 to 02.

On a road course the ABS gives later creampuffs a distinct advantage.

Fastest in terms of what specifically?

The quickest 1/4 mile time is held by an 00 RT/10

Top speed I beleive is a silver 99 GTS at 192-193ish

This from totally stock cars? Because I think he means "right from the factory" cars.

Yeah I was thinking stock from the factory. What about weight differences between the models, wouldnt that play into the equation? Are the RT10's lighter, thus makinin more "theoritcal" HP in weight reductions?
